STEM cell treatments have become one of the great medical promises of the age. But even though most of the treatments now being offered commercially are unproven, Australians are flocking to overseas stem cell “clinics” in search of a miracle cure. The Australian Stem Cell Centre’s Dr Kirsten Herbert sounds a warning to the local industry and to journalists covering the subject.
